Wife Seleste: “I feel like my country turned its back on my family”

Elyria, OH – Last night, the national Noticias Telemundo program aired an update on the Pedro Hernandez family, divided by a border after Pedro’s cruel deportation in September.

It is a searing piece, highlighting how American citizens are being affected by Trump’s relentless deportation policy and demonstrating the excruciating pain that so many families are going through.

It also illustrates the disconnect between Trump’s campaign rhetoric about seeking to deport “bad guys,” and his actual policy which targets the easiest people for his agents to find: immigrants who are complying with regular check-ins at ICE and have valid work permits.

The piece is a must-watch, even if you do not speak Spanish.

As Pedro’s wife Seleste put it: “I feel like my country turned its back on my family.”  Pedro, speaking from his relatives’ home in Guerrero, said he feels “destroyed” and “unable to do anything.”

A family friend has set up a fundraising account to help pay some of the family’s legal fees and other expenses here.
