Ohio Organizational Statement on Trump Immigration Policies

Share This:

As Mother’s Day approaches, we condemn the ongoing separation of mothers from their children due to this Administration’s immigration policies.

Maribel Trujillo, Beatriz Casillas, Edith Espinal, and Leonor Garcia are just four of the Ohio moms whose American children are living a nightmare because of the Trump Administration’s failure to exercise common sense in deportation decisions.

In addition, we abhor the Administration’s decision to separate parents from children as they arrive at the border seeking protection from violence in their home countries.

These are un-American policies that go against our entire value system.  The bond between parent and child is primal and irreplaceable. It’s unconscionable that this Administration is looking for new ways to create broken families, instead of keeping them whole.
