The Latest from Steve King's Extremist Line of Thinking

Steve King held what was supposed to be a major rally against immigration reform yesterday in Richmond, Virginia.  Nobody came, but that didn’t stop him from spouting more of his usual anti-immigrant babble.

In particular, he attacked immigrants from Latin America and claimed that populations get more violent the further south one moves in Latin America.  Immigrants who come from such a “violent civilization,” he said, were bound to stir things up for those who lived in less-violent civilizations.  As Think Progress quoted:

If you bring people from a violent civilization into a less-violent civilization, you’re going to have more violence right? It’s like pouring hot water into cold water, does it raise the temperature or not?

In other news in extremism today, Mark Krikorian did not react well to Marco Rubio’s warning today that President Obama might act unilaterally on immigration reform if the House does not pass a bill.  In a series of tweets, he compared the President to a toddler, a teenager, and a peeing dog.
