Immigration reform advocates won a big victory yesterday, when the Senate passed the Gang of 8 immigration bill in a 68-32 vote. Check out the list of the great things we won in the bill here.
But we need to be clear: immigration reform has NOT yet passed. The Senate bill is merely the first step. The House of Representatives must now pass an immigration reform bill, then the House and Senate versions must be reconciled together. Immigrants looking to adjust their status should hold off, and beware of seeking advice from disreputable lawyers or notarios who may be looking to scam them.
