Eight advocates braved an icy New Jersey morning yesterday to protest immigrant deportations in front of the Elizabeth Detention Center in New Jersey. The eight laid down in the snow, chained together, for an hour before they were cut out and arrested for their act of civil disobedience, as about 60 others changed “education, not deportation.” All eight have since been released.
Today, immigrants in Pennsylvania are picking up the baton and attempting to shut down an ICE center in Philadelphia. Check back for updates.
