Next Monday, January 13th, advocates in Cleveland, Ohio will be walking a 20-mile pilgrimage to highlight the cost of inaction on immigration reform, and the fact that our broken system separates families.
Ricardo Ramos of Painesville, Ohio is facing deportation on January 16th–his daughter’s 12th birthday. Ricardo is the married father of three US citizen children, and is the main breadwinner of his family, having worked 16 years in the fields of northeast Ohio. Those participating in the pilgrimage are hoping to draw attention to his case and stop his deportation. Friends in Cleveland–like the Polish community–have really lent their support to Ricardo’s story, but we need a game-change to keep Ricardo and others here. Read more about Ricardo’s story here, and tune back on Monday for our coverage of the Ohio pilgrimage.
