Today, the Welcome with Dignity campaign launched its new national campaign to re-envision how people seeking asylum in the U.S. are welcomed and protected after being forced to flee their homes. Many advocates, activists, and regional migration experts came together online and off to celebrate the start of this campaign and continue the fight for a more fair and humane immigration system.
Here are a few of the morning’s top posts:

Nuestra visión es simple: Queremos un sistema que protege a la gente que huye de violencia y protege a las familias que buscan seguridad. Un sistema migratorio que nos trata con dignidad y humanidad. #WelcomeWithDignity pic.twitter.com/GUlM6vDu4m

What is asylum? It’s the promise our country has made to provide refuge to people escaping persecution. We haven’t lived up to it, but the time for change is now. Join our movement to #WelcomeWithDignity: https://t.co/GW9ra3RBKK pic.twitter.com/ReAbq7imwu

What kind of country do we want to be?
A country that turns its back on families and children? Or are we the country that is a model for treating asylum seekers with humanity, justice, and dignity? #WelcomeWithDignity pic.twitter.com/TcMWJEn9XI

What do we mean when we say #WelcomeWithDignity? It means we protect children at the border, we allow asylum seekers to exercise their right to claim asylum, and we prioritize humanity instead of incarceration. https://t.co/FQRi1MwKJ4 pic.twitter.com/xOxPd8NMr3

What is asylum? It’s a lifeline for people escaping persecution, the “huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
It’s time for us to live up to our values and #WelcomeWithDignity. pic.twitter.com/kO4ShLyFrA

I'll never forget my 1st grade teacher Mrs. Street who made me feel welcome in her class when I was a little refugee kid.
Now I'm helping lead a campaign to re-envision asylum.
