Once again, the courts reaffirm what immigrants and their allies have always known: the DACA program is good for our country and the administration can’t just end it for no clear reason or legal justification.
As Dreamers across the country find hope in Judge Bates’ ruling, the Trump Administration continues its crusade to undo DACA and expose hundreds of thousands of aspiring Americans to the threat of deportation.
Right now, it is imperative that Dreamers continue to renew their DACA status and for allies to recommit to support and protect these young people.
Judge Bates’s ruling is a small victory a much larger, and complex, judicial battle – meaning that we as a community must be ready to resist further attempts from Trump and his Deportation Force to tear Dreamers away from the country that they call home.
