The following is a statement from Frank Sharry, executive director of America’s Voice, regarding the deployment of troops:
The election dust has settled, and Trump’s political ploy has been exposed. The President’s attempt to stoke fear about a group of bedraggled refugees seeking safety in hopes that Americans might be scared into voting for the party of bigots was reprehensible. It’s downright cruel to the men and women of the armed forces.
The election is over. The stunt didn’t work. It’s time to bring this misuse of our brave soldiers to an end.
With Thanksgivivg and the holidays around the corner, it’s time to let the nearly 6,000 soldiers now stationed near the border to come home and be with their families.
American soldiers are not your political pawns, Mr. President. Enough of this political stunt. Bring the troops home for Thanksgiving.
