The following is a statement by Frank Sharry, the Executive Director of America’s Voice and America’s Voice Education Fund..

I am thrilled to announce the following senior staff changes that will better position America’s Voice and America’s Voice Education Fund for the future.

Pili Tobar has been promoted from Managing Director to Deputy Director, and will be responsible for coordinating and directing our policy, communications and politics work. Before rejoining America’s Voice last year, Pili worked for Senator Charles E. Schumer (D-NY), Latino Victory Project, Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), and the Democratic National Committee.

Douglas Rivlin has recently joined our team as the new Director of Communications, and will be responsible for rapid response, message development, press events and inquiries and our communications strategies. Previously, Doug served as the long-time Communications Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL), and before that as Director of Communication at the National Immigration Forum.

Matt Hildreth has been named Director of New Initiatives, a newly-created post in which he and I will work with the entire America’s Voice team on a new nationwide narrative shift project aimed at broadening and deepening public and political support for long-overdue reforms of our nation’s immigration policies. Previously, Matt has served as Political Director and Digital Director for the organization.

These changes will better position us in the short-term to fight against an administration that is deeply hostile to America’s tradition of welcoming immigrants and refugees, and in the long-term as we seek to generate the public backing and political will needed to overhaul and modernize our nation’s immigration policies.
