“We commend the Biden administration for redesignating TPS for Afghanistan, which continues their positive series of recent policy announcements.
Many Afghan citizens put their trust and faith in America and served side-by-side with American soldiers, diplomats and NGOs. We have an obligation to honor their service to America. Today’s announcement will stabilize families and likely save lives. The alternative prospect, deporting people to Afghanistan at this moment, would violate both our values and our interests, while turning our backs on our commitment to honor and stand with our allies.”
