Immigration reform advocates in Washington state today are holding a voter registration drive, and using the opportunity to remind House leaders like Speaker Boehner and Cathy McMorris-Rodgers (their own member of Congress) that there is a demographic and electoral imperative for them to pass immigration reform.
Immigration reform supporters with OneAmerica, SEIU, and MECHA/Eastern Washington University are holding a demonstration, post-voter registration drive, using a giant stuffed duck wearing a sign that says “John Boehner: lame duck on immigration.”
The advocates are calling on Boehner and McMorris Rodgers to bring a vote on immigration reform to the House floor this year. View some of their pictures below:
