The Congressional Hispanic Caucus, joined by Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer and other prominent Democratic members of the House, gathered earlier today to denounce the ICE raids currently targeting Central American families.
“Raiding homes to break families apart is not what our country stands for,” tweeted CHC chair Rep. Linda Sánchez, and at the press conference said that the families who escaped violence and terror in Central America and are now facing possible deportation are not “an immigration issue,” but a “refugee issue.”
