Senator Continues to Support Misogynist Bigot Donald Trump
Cleveland, OH — Following is a statement from Lynn Tramonte, Director of Ohio’s Voice.
“Donald Trump should be a role model to no one. He says disgusting things about women, immigrants, Muslims, judges, war heroes, and other Americans, publicly and privately. He does everything we are teaching our children not to do. Yet Senator Rob Portman continues to back him to be our next President of the United States.
“It’s not enough to denounce Trump’s remarks. It’s not enough to avoid him on the campaign trail. Portman refuses to do the right thing and withdraw his support from Trump, because he’s afraid of alienating Trump’s staunchest supporters. Portman is a classic example of a politician more concerned about saving his own hide than doing the right thing.
“We need parental guidance warnings on our TV when Donald Trump is on air. Simply put, Donald Trump is not fit to lead our country, and Rob Portman has shown that neither is he.”
