Title 42 is an ineffective policy with nothing to do with public health and everything to do with preventing asylum seekers from having meritorious asylum cases heard in a U.S. court. It raises serious issues of racism and discrimination in its application, and this humanitarian disaster, imposed by Donald Trump and Stephen Miller must end once and for all. Every single member of Congress should support ending it.
Here are the Democrats that have spoken out in support of ending Title 42.

Chuck Schumer, New York
I’m standing with @SenateDems again against mistreatment of Haitian asylum seekers and to urge action for long-term stability in Haiti
The admin must work with a broad range of leaders to find a Haitian-led solution to this crisis and must rescind the awful Trump Title 42 policy pic.twitter.com/1vLkPrket5

Bob Menendez, New Jersey
WATCH: Title 42 "is not the solution; it's part of the problem," @SenatorMenendez says on #MTP.
"There needs to be a comprehensive immigration plan. Our Republican colleagues however, they want the issue — they don't want the solution." pic.twitter.com/JN3jYxGnl0

Rather than pursuing the hard but necessary work of adjudicating asylum claims, the Biden admin is continuing Trump's policy of using Title 42 to indiscriminately deport asylum seekers.
This is an inexcusable betrayal of our nation’s values. It’s time to end Title 42 now. pic.twitter.com/GPoklP56xC
— Senator Bob Menendez (@SenatorMenendez) March 9, 2022
As I said on @JDBalartMSNBC a couple of weeks ago, Title 42 isn't a solution, it is part of the problem. It creates a revolving door that allows people without asylum claims to come again, and again, and again. https://t.co/J7VgsfZ9Vw

Cory Booker, New Jersey
The mass deportation of Haitians, especially Haitian children, is unacceptable.
I’m joining @RepCori in calling on @POTUS to end Title 42 removals immediately. https://t.co/Yv9frPPtFs

Alex Padilla, California
Yesterday, my office joined @CGRShastings in San Francisco for a rally calling on the Biden admin to end the Trump admin’s cruel, dangerous Title 42 policy.
Asylum is a human right. It’s time to #EndTitle42 and reinstate humanitarian protections at the border. pic.twitter.com/l2wrlmR3J2
— Senator Alex Padilla (@SenAlexPadilla) March 22, 2022
The treatment of Haitian refugees seeking safe harbor at the border is utterly horrific and unacceptable.
They are human beings who deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
The administration must act NOW to stop Title 42 deportations.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA-07)
Title 42 is a public health policy that has been manipulated and exploited to keep immigrants from seeking asylum.
It's a cruel, xenophobic policy — and it's time for it to go. pic.twitter.com/TYfp28uVZB

3 points:
📍Title 42 is public health law; shouldn't be used to circumvent immigration law.
📍Title 42 made things worse; took away existing process for asylum seekers.
📍We need legal pathways (which Trump destroyed) for humane immigration system. https://t.co/hS2xWqj8gW— Rep. Pramila Jayapal (@RepJayapal) May 2, 2022
WATCH: Progressives urge Biden to end Title 42 as Congress looks for path forward on Ukraine and Covid aid. #MTPDaily@RepJayapal: "We will not support legislation that includes a reinstatement of Title 42. It's just scapegoating immigrants. … That's going to be a nonstarter." pic.twitter.com/rItWKdBPun

Let me say it loud and clear: Title 42 needs to go!
To my fellow Democrats who seem to be caving under political pressure I want to reiterate:
It would be a huge mistake for Democrats to shy away from dismantling this cruel plank of Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda. #EndTitle42 pic.twitter.com/9ue990TKgr

LIVE: I’m joining @USImmHUB, @welcomewdignity, and @humanrights1st for a press conference on Title 42.
This harmful policy has left migrants with no legal process to seek protections established under U.S. law must end on May 23.

Everyone is looking for a quick and easy solution to irregular migration. Title 42 has been in place for over two years – has it done anything to deter, curb, or end migration? No.
Title 42 shouldn't be used as a substitute for real immigration policy.

Seeking asylum is legal. That's why the failed, Trump-era Title 42 policy must be rescinded.
I have and will continue to engage with @POTUS and @SecMayoraks to ensure Title 42 ends on May 23rd as announced.

Great job @RepEscobar.
If you want to use #Title42 to stem migration, then:
#1 you don't understand immigration law (it's a public health policy)
#2 you're more interested in playing politics than actually doing the hard work to fix our broken immigration system https://t.co/2EUX3c4ZNj
