In this week’s episode, the AV team discussed the news that Donald Trump and Republican leaders don’t want to attach the Dream Act to this year’s must-pass omnibus bill. Remember: Republicans must pass the Dream Act before the end of the year if they don’t want to be complicit in the deportation of Dreamers. The omnibus may be the best chance to do that, so Republicans should be embracing the opportunity. It’s getting to be crunch time for the Dream Act: call your member of Congress and tell them to support legislation NOW. We also discuss the last weekend before the Virginia gubernatorial race, as well as what’s happening with Texas’ SB 4 anti-immigrant law.
