PHOTOS: Faith Leaders Come to El Paso for March & Vigil for Human Dignity

Today, hundreds of immigrants, advocates, and faith leaders from all over Texas came to El Paso for the March & Vigil for Human Dignity. Drummers and dancers joined Bishop Mark Seitz, Bishop Anthony Celino, and faith and community leaders from across the borderlands to make a statement against SB 4, the state anti-immigrant law that briefly went into effect this week.

As El Paso County Commissioner David Stout said during the event, “Governor Abbott and the state of Texas need to stop meddling in federal affairs and stop wasting billions of dollars on failed policies that are only focused on enforcements and deterrents.”

He added, “We need that money and could be spending it to access education, health care and housing, things that are really needed in the state.”
