Advocates and Lawyers for Refugees and Muslim Immigrants to Illuminate and Decry What is Happening
With the immediate, Friday night implementation of Trump’s ban on refugees, and individuals from certain Muslim countries traveling to the US on valid visas, chaos has ensued. TODAY, January 28 at 1:30pm ET/1-:30am PT, leaders from American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, HIAS, International Refugee Assistance Project, National Immigration Law Center, and America’s Voice Education Fund will gather on a press call to decry what is happening and outline their response. Note this is an updated time for the call, which originally was at 12 PM Eastern, and will now rely on a new moderated dial-in call-in line.
On the call, NILC will be able to discuss the emergency litigation filed earlier today in the Eastern District of New York on behalf of two Iraqi refugees with valid entry permits who were detained at JFK airport last night.
