Frank Sharry: “All of us should mean all of us”

America’s Voice is part of a broad coalition that today is launching the #AllOfUs campaign, a multiplatform effort to make it clear that all of us are in the fight against Covid-19 together.

The coalition brings together faith leaders, businesses, civil rights organizations and pro-immigrant groups from across the political spectrum in a united front to reach Americans on-line, in print advertising and in the news with a message of solidarity. The coalition, led by the National Immigration Forum, includes a diverse array of voices, including the NAACP, the National Association of Evangelicals, the Anti-Defamation League, Postmates, Chef José Andrés, the George W. Bush Institute, UnidosUS, the Emerson Collective and the National Urban League, among many others. A complete list of coalition partners and more information is available at the #AllOfUs website

The following is a statement from Frank Sharry, Executive Director of America’s Voice:

We are in the midst of a once-in-a-century public health crisis that has already killed tens of thousands of Americans. Public health experts agree that the most successful responses are found in nations that adopt a “one for all and all for one” strategy. The unity public health experts speak of is not some gauzy aspiration but a hard, pragmatic truth. Only if all of us do our part and work together can we conquer this lethal virus.

All of us should mean all of us.

Working men and women are putting their lives on the line to save others, from first responders and hospital staff to food delivery drivers and farmworkers, and it is painfully obvious that the health and wellbeing of our neighbors directly impacts the health and wellbeing of ourselves, our families and our communities.

At the same time, the role that immigrants and refugees are playing in the Covid-19 effort is painfully obvious. No better or no less than everyone else who is responding to the crisis, how our nation responds to Covid-19 depends on the work, the health and the dedication of everyone in our society, regardless of their race, religion, class, national origin, sexuality or immigration status.

America’s Voice is proud to be a partner in the #AllOfUs campaign and we salute the work of Ali Noorani and the National Immigration Forum to assemble this heavyweight line-up of partners from the left, right and center of the American spectrum in order to send a clear message that #AllOfUs are in this together.
