Today, over 150 immigrant families are rallying outside the New Orleans courthouse currently hearing arguments in the Texas anti-immigrant lawsuit from 26 Republican Governors and Attorneys General challenging President Obama’s immigration actions.
The families impacted by Judge Hanen’s delay are joined today by immigrant rights groups from all across the nation, including New Orleans Worker for Racial Justice, Congress of Day Laborers, United We Dream, and nearly a dozen others.
The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is currently weighing the Justice Department’s emergency request to lift the stay of Judge Hanen’s injunction, which is currently blocking the implementation of DAPA and expanded DACA.
