“Today We Are All Part Of The LGBT Community”: Americans Across Nation Hold Vigils For Orlando

Share This:

We are heartbroken by the senseless deaths of 49 Americans in Orlando this past weekend.

This despicable act of hate has hit the Latinx community particularly hard. Zoe Colon of the Hispanic Federation estimates that about 90% of the victims were Hispanic.

We also know that at least three of the victims were undocumented immigrants, with one succumbing to his wounds.

But as we do in times of tragedy, Americans are coming together in support of those who lost their lives in a space that should have been free from hatred.

Below is a collection of images of vigils from all over the country, many of those featuring thousands of attendees. All send the same message to those in the LGBT community in Orlando and elsewhere: You are not alone, and we care.
