The death of undocumented immigrant Anastasio Hernandez at the hands of Border Patrol agents has been declared a homicide by the San Diego county coroner’s office. Now an investigation is underway.
In a blog post, Rafael Prieto of America’s Voice had this to say:
“The truth of the matter is that if comprehensive immigration reform had already passed, this tragedy could have been avoided.
“Anastasio wouldn’t have been deported for a traffic violation.
“He wouldn’t have had to cross the border illegally because he would have had a permit to be in the country and to work legally.
