Last night, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart realized that “the demographic numbers have become completely unavoidable,” and introduced Mexican-American comedian Al Madrigal as their new “Señior” Latino Correspondent.
The topic of his first segment on the faux news show: President Obama’s immigration speech from last week.
“Do you think he’s pandering?” Stewart asked Madrigal.
Madrigal replied:
Well, it’s just like Cinco de Mayo. Once a year you feign interest in our culture by ordering fajitas at Applebee’s. And the next day we’re back to being the valet you don’t make eye contact with.
