SEIU Launches Ads Holding GOP Accountable for Immigration in 2014

Today, SEIU launched a series of Spanish-language TV ads designed to mobilize Latino voters and hold Republicans accountable for killing immigration reform this year.

The six-figure ad campaign will air in Colorado, California, and Nevada, targeting the campaigns of Rep. Cory Gardner (R-CO, who is running for Senate), Mike Coffman (R-CO), David Valadao (R-CA), and Joe Heck (R-NV).  As the ads begin their two-week run, SEIU will also be holding a series of actions in key Republican congressional districts.

As Rocio Saenz, Executive Vice President of SEIU said in a statement:

Congressmen Coffman, Gardner, Valadao and Heck are all part of a Republican Party that must face a large constituency of Latino voters and be held accountable to their party’s consistent catering to anti-immigrant extremists.  And this is only the beginning. Today, we strike with ads and actions, but what’s to come—from now until November—will ensure that Latino voters make an unprecedented presence at the ballot box and reject Republicans for blocking immigration reform and insulting our community.

The actions of Republicans in Congress, remind me my grandma’s saying: Tell me who you’re with, and I’ll tell you who you are.

Why? Because Republicans again and again insult our community, and blocked immigration reform.

And the worst: they have voted against our future and our DREAMERS.

This November, we must go to the polls and vote against Republicans.
