‘Qué Pasa’ in Immigration: Border Deaths; Evangelicals on the Hill

Today’s top story in the Spanish-language press deals with a pair of recent incidents in which Mexican citizens have died in encounters with U.S. Border Patrol agents. A group of conservative and evangelical leaders calling for immigration reform also gathers some media attention.

Border deaths. America’s Voice posts a blog post, “Another week, another death for the Border Patrol.” Univision posts video footage showing the death of teenager Sergio Adrian Hernández, who was shot earlier this week. El Diario (El Paso) reports that Hernández’ grandfather was a World War II veteran.  Al Frente, EFE, Diario de Yucatán, the AP, La Crónica, El Financiero, La Jornada, Reuters, and La Opinión have more coverage of the shooting and the aftermath.
