PHOTOS: Thousands Across Country Turn Out to Demand Congress Pass #DreamActNow

Share This:

Yesterday was a key day of action for advocates and Dreamers across the country, who turned out by the thousands to support the Dream Act and demand that Congress pass legislation by the end of the year. The day’s events were part of yet another week of action featuring rallies and protests calling on Congress to take action.

In Washington, DC, Dreamers held a “die-in” in Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s office to symbolize the danger of deportation that Congressional Republicans are putting young immigrants in. On the Capitol steps, two hundred movement leaders were arrested in a massive act of civil disobedience to draw attention to the Dream Act. In California, 13 Dreamers began a hunger strike. And in states from Massachusetts to Tennessee to Nevada and Ohio and Florida and more, advocates made sure to let their member of Congress know that the Dream Act must be a Congressional priority.
