Yesterday, Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Rep. Linda Sanchez (CA-38) introduced the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021 into Congress. This long-overdue comprehensive immigration reform bill – based on President Biden’s proposal – will create a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants living and working in the United States.
After years of pushing lawmakers for progressive reform, many advocates expressed their joy at the introduction of this legislation and signaled a call to action for commitment and follow through of the President and Congressional leaders to get it passed.

Biden’s immigration bill is one step towards the reform that is sorely needed from our immigration system. Justice and family unity should be at the center of how we move forward, not continued harm towards vulnerable communities.#USCitizenshipAct

Biden's path to undocumented citizenship is politically risky.
