You might remember Pedro. He has four children and his wife is a US citizen. Last year thousands of people like you took action to keep Pedro with his family — but now ICE is trying again to deport him, even though Pedro is a law-abiding family man and the primary caretaker of his eldest son who has severe cerebral palsy. Pedro's renewal should be a no-brainer, yet the ICE Detroit Field Office just denied his request and without action from the Obama Administration he could be deported at any moment. Click here to send a message telling Secretary Jeh Johnson to stop Pedro's deportation. Pedro and his family are counting on you! Pedro meets multiple criteria that would likely qualify him for the type of deportation relief the White House had been considering, including years of residence in the United States, children, and marriage to a U.S. citizen. Those facts and thousands of faxes from you convinced ICE a year ago that Pedro was exactly the sort of person America should welcome, not kick out. But a year later, Pedro's stay has expired and ICE has unbelievably denied him a renewal. Tell Secretary Jeh Johnson to stop Pedro's deportation. Help keep this family together!
According to multiple reports, President Obama will soon announce a series of changes to U.S. immigration policy that could impact millions of families across the country. We've won the fight demanding that President Obama take action -- now we need to tell the President to use his existing authority to make common-sense improvements to our immigration system, like an expansion to DACA! These should be no-brainers for the President: President Obama should use his existing authority to protect those who qualify for the Senate immigration bill and allow them to apply for work permits DHS must overhaul or end its failed program, cynically called "Secure Communities" The Obama Administration must drastically reduce their record number of deportations Our stories are powerful! Please tell us how Obama acting would impact you, your friends, and your family. We'll post some of the stories on our blog and send them to the press.
Hypocritical members of Congress, who say they support us but vote with anti-immigrant extremists in the Republican Party, are a major road block to passing immigration reform. Colorado Representatives Mike Coffman and Cory Gardner are the perfect example of this hypocrisy. Back home, they tell Latino, Asian-American, and immigrant voters that they support reform -- but, in Washington DC, they've voted with Rep. Steve King to deport DREAMers by defunding DACA. We need to make an example out of Rep. Coffman and Rep. Gardner and ensure Latino, Asian-American, and immigrant voters know where they REALLY stand. The Denver Post is the largest newspaper in Colorado, and we’re buying out all of the ads on their homepage. Republicans can’t have it both ways and we’re sending a message that will be impossible to ignore. Please contribute to our campaign and help keep these ads online!
Under Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice, immigration "illegal re-entry" charges rank number one out of all federal prosecutions. Many of these so-called "felons" are people with families, jobs, homes, and lives in the United States. They are Americans in every way except on paper. If Eric Holder and Federal Attorneys succeed in prosecuting these immigrants, they'll become felons, go to prison and be deported. They will also be disqualified from the immigration legislation we're fighting for.We all know our immigration laws are outdated. So why is Eric Holder making things worse by going after parents whose only crime is trying to be with their kids? Tell United States Attorney General Eric Holder to stop criminalizing immigrants!
Even though Jaime is married to a U.S. citizen, has a U.S. citizen baby, and has lived in this country for eight years, he's facing deportation within a matter of weeks. Jaime is a great father and wonderful husband. His wife Keiko suffers from a seizure disorder, and Jaime provides her with the support and care she needs. They just bought their own home and always had dreams of raising their son there. But if Jaime had been deported, his family will have been devastated. Jamie is a good member of his community. He owns his own business, and he's licensed and pays all his taxes. Last year he even volunteered for a group to help connect people with healthcare and food. So why does ICE want to deport him? Help Jaime now!
Joseline, 9, and Ariana, 7, are pleading to their President to let them stay in Columbus, Ohio, their home. Their mom, Esmeralda, could be deported by the Obama Administration within a matter of days, even though she’s been in the country for 14 years. With no other family nearby, Joseline, Ariana, and their baby brother -- all U.S. citizens -- will be forced to leave their own country. These girls will suffer the most if this family is deported. Joseline and Ariana are at the top of their class and have received awards for good grades and behavior. But if the Obama Administration deports their mom, they'll be forced to uproot to Michoacán, Mexico, where drug cartel violence is a part of daily life. These children shouldn't be expelled from the country of their birth. Their mom would qualify for the path to citizenship in the Senate's immigration bill, but House Republicans refuse to vote on it. President Obama says he supports this legislation -- so why is he punishing U.S. citizens like Joseline and Ariana for the House's inaction? Please help Esmeralda and her family now!
U.S. Attorney, David J. Hickton -- who was appointed by President Obama -- has decided to go after Alfredo of all people, a model citizen and father. Alfredo is a constant and active father in his children's lives. Because of his status, Alfredo lived in constant fear of getting picked up by ICE and separated from his children. In February, Alfredo was stopped by the police on the way to the mall. Even though Alfredo was only a passenger in the car the Border Patrol was called. He was taken away in handcuffs in front of his 11 year old daughter. Alfredo has been held in a detention cell in Erie, Pennsylvania for over a month and a Grand Jury has indicted him for "illegal re-entry," a federal felony. Alfredo's only crime was reuniting with his family. Now U.S. Attorney David Hickton and the Obama Administration is making his entire family pay the price. Please take action now!
President Obama is deporting 1,010 immigrants every single day. This is just unacceptable. Our families need relief and we won’t stop till we win it. We’ve been calling on Republicans to pass immigration reform for months and it looks like they’re shutting the door on reform. If they do, we’ll make sure Republicans pay a big price in upcoming elections and in the meantime we’ll be turning up the heat on President Obama to use his authority to keep our families together. With 1,010 deportations every day, we have no time to lose.
