Ahead of Donald Trump’s first State of the Union address tonight, immigrants, refugees and allies are traveling to Washington, DC and organizing events across the country to speak out against the Trump’s anti-family, racist immigration policies.
From the Muslim and refugee bans, to the Administration’s cruel campaign of deportations, to the rescinding of DACA and TPS for hundreds of thousands of individuals – it’s clear that the state of immigrants in America (and the Americans who love them) is NOT sound. Not at all.
Dreamers and TPS holders; refugees and immigrants; and family members of people that Trump deported will be in the audience at the State of the Union, invited guests of numerous Members of Congress. For booking opportunities, email press@americasvoice.org.

Alyssa Milano’s #StateOfTheDream Launch
What: (via USA Today): Alyssa Milano will launch an initiative, #StateOfTheDream, to support immigrants and raise money for United We Dream, an immigrant youth-led organization. In a statement, Milano called for social media users to create brief videos describing “your dream for America” and post them at the same time, 9 p.m. EST, with the effort’s hashtag. She urged on Twitter: “Please join us! Resist and persist with digital counter-programming to Trump’s #SOTU”

What: This is a cross-movement event where we’ll be talking about all the issues affecting our communities due to Trump’s white supremacist, anti-women, anti-worker agenda. Immigration will be a central issue in the program and we’d love to join in the use of any ribbon that unifies our support.
