The reports from Paris and Beirut have been horrendous and America’s Voice stands in solidarity with the victims and their families.
Already, politicians like Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are using this tragedy to double down on their attacks against immigrants and refugees.
Can you imagine packing up your belongings and fleeing your home because you or your family member could be killed? That’s what a “refugee” is. And now, Donald Trump and his allies in the GOP are saying we need to close our doors to refugees.
These are the same anti-immigrant extremists that have attacked me and my family for years because of our undocumented status.
Now more than ever, we must stand together with the refugees who are now under attack by these politicians!
We need Democratic leaders in the Senate, especially Sen. Chuck Schumer, to stand against Donald Trump style attacks against immigrants and refugees. If Sen. Schumer and Democratic leaders stand up to Republicans, they will be standing up for our values as a nation.
