Washington, DC — It’s been another chaotic week on immigration that again makes clear the damage to the nation inherent to the Trump-Miller mass deportation agenda.
Just take stock of the recent news. The administration’s plan to require immigrants seeking green cards — including those already living in the United States — to apply from outside the country has created chaos and staggering harm. Immigrant detention centers like Delaney Hall in Newark, NJ are facing scrutiny for dangerous conditions and a lack of accountability. And now DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin is threatening to stop processing international travelers at Newark Airport over the immigration dispute — along with the incredible self-inflicted harms that would come with targeting sanctuary city airports.

“The damage to our families, our economy and our values by this administration’s anti-immigrant agenda is immense. They are abusing power, refusing to abide by basic decency and accountability and are intent on making as many individuals as possible deportable as they continue to scale up their mass deportation machinery. The talk of a revamped approach to immigration doesn’t amount to any meaningful course correction. In fact, they are looking to turbocharge deportations to an even greater height. Congress has a clear choice to make when it returns next week – side with destruction or fight for the reforms that the majority of Americans are demanding.”
