Read America’s Voice’s New Polling Memo on Americans Rejecting Trump’s Deportation Agenda
Washington, DC – Since Donald Trump came into office, he has built and funded a brutal mass deportation machine that harms immigrants and non-immigrants alike. It has caused the deaths of scores of immigrants and non-immigrants alike, terrorized children, separated families, undermined civil liberties, damaged vital industries, diverted resources to fund violence, and racially profiled thousands of people across the country.
The administration’s mass random violent and chaotic deportation campaign is in full gear, and the human and economic cost keeps climbing. Weeks ago, Border Patrol agents arrested Luis Manuel Aviles Roa in Key West while his son, a U.S. Navy sailor, was deployed aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln. It is the same pattern that killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston and Johan Sebastián in Maine, both killed on their way to work, and that just this week left two U.S. citizen teenagers pepper-sprayed and beaten by ICE agents in Alamo, Texas, as they drove to file paperwork to enlist in the Marines. None of it is an accident. All of it is a choice.
This upcoming election is a referendum on the Trump Administration agenda that has made America weaker, poorer, and less safe. Their unprecedented attacks on immigrants have created chaos and fear and harmed not just immigrants but all Americans. Their efforts are not about policy solutions or the well-being of the American people but rather about politics, fear-mongering, and division.
Immigrant communities and the citizens who stand with them are registering voters, organizing neighbors, and preparing to hold this administration, and everyone who has enabled it, accountable in November.

For the last year and a half Americans have watched the deportation machine in action: armed and masked agents in unmarked cars terrorizing communities, families torn apart, people dying in custody and on the street. This terror hasn’t made us more safe. It hasn’t brought social stability and economic prosperity. To the contrary, it has instilled chaos and fear and helped wreck our economy. Poll after poll, in red states and blue, shows Americans are rejecting Trump’s lawless and dangerous purge. Voters have seen up close the damage that has been inflicted, and they are done paying for it – the cost to taxpayers, the cost to our economy, the cost in human lives. In November, Americans will have their say on Trump’s America, and will stand up for their immigrant friends, neighbors, and our Constitution.”
