Donald Trump Brings His “Garbage” to Texas to Attack America and Immigrants

Washington, DC — While in Arizona campaigning yesterday, Donald Trump unveiled the latest xenophobic remark in his closing argument to voters saying the United States is, “a garbage can for the world.” With barely over a week until Election Day, Trump’s final pitch consists of vile falsehoods about immigrants and the fundamental role of immigration in the history and future of the United States. Today, Trump takes his newest message to Texas where he will appear alongside Sen. Ted Cruz in what can only be seen as another opportunity to disparage migrants and spread more dehumanizing rhetoric.

America’s Voice’s Texas-based Campaigns Manager Mario Carrillo:

“As an immigrant welcomed into this country more than 30 years ago, I’ve almost grown numb to the decade of unrelenting attacks by Donald Trump against people like me and my family. But his latest attack line has led to depths that I felt even Trump was unable to sink to. Let’s be clear: Trump makes no distinction on how an immigrant arrived in our country, if you are a citizen or have any form of legal status. If you’re a Latino immigrant, he thinks you’re a piece of garbage. He’s talking about families. Women. Children. We know that this dehumanizing language already leads to violence, as we know all too well here in El Paso. And now Trump is coming back to Texas, as hate-fueled as ever, just about a week from Election Day. The contrast in this election could not be clearer and the only garbage is the hatred Trump spews.”
