On January 14-15, CNN/ORC International conducted a poll of 814 adults. The margin of error for the poll is +/-3.5%.
- A majority of Americans think the government should focus on a pathway to legal status for the undocumented, not on deporting them. When asked whether the focus of the federal government should be on providing undocumented immigrants with a pathway to legal status or deporting them and preventing others from coming into the country, 53% said providing a path to legal status should be the government’s top priority, while 43% said deporting the undocumented should be.
