Last weekend, AV’s Maribel Hastings joined José Díaz-Balart on Telemundo’s Enfoque to discuss immigration and the current state of the 2016 Presidential election.
In the Spanish-language interview, Hastings and Diaz-Balart, along with Dan Garza of the LIBRE Initiative, discussed several of the Presidential candidates, including Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and the rise of the GOP’s current leading candidate, Donald Trump.
In particular, Hastings noted that Trump’s popularity in the GOP could be due to some voter disenchantment with “establishment” candidates, but with a year and a half left in the race, Trump sucking up the air in the room could spell trouble for other candidates still trying to lay out their positions.
Hastings’s Telemundo appearance comes on the heels of her latest Spanish-language piece, “Ahuyentando el voto latino,” also available here to read.
