“Is the New 112th Congress Anti-Immigrant?”
The Spanish-language media reports on the latest attack on constitutional rights, targeting children of immigrants, and what can be expected from the 112th Congress.
News agency EFE reports on yesterday’s press conference at which conservative state legislators announced a new campaign to deny U.S citizenship to children of undocumented immigrants.
Univisión also reports on the press conference on its website and national newscast.
On its national newscast, Telemundo interviews former Florida Senator Mel Martínez on whether or not he believes that new Congress will be “anti-immigrant.” Martínez says that he doesn’t believe that this new Congress will create laws against Hispanics, because he believes that the Republican agenda is not an “anti-Hispanic agenda.” Instead, Martínez asserts that he believes that Republicans will come up with new ideas for ways to solve the immigration problem, and eventually come up with a bipartisan solution.
