A civil rights abuse hotline in Alabama — set up by the Southern Poverty Law Center, National Immigration Law Center (NILC), American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), MALDEF, Latino Justice, Asian Law Caucus — has fielded about 4,000 calls since the implementation of HB 56, in Alabama, where the Hispanic population is literally only 3.9% of the entire population.
