Governor Cuomo heard the call of community leaders and pulled New York out of Secure Communities. DHS, however, has just taken action against the people and elected leaders of New York, attempting to force the state (and all states) to participate, whether they want to or not.

Act now to help protect DREAMers from deportation, end programs that round up ordinary immigrants, and make it easier for families with US citizens to stay together.

Both Congress and the President have a responsibility to fix our broken immigration: Congress needs to change the law and the President needs to change the way the law is administered.

Alberto Yanez’s deportation has been delayed for another year. This is undoubtedly a small victory in his much larger battle to stay in the only country he’s ever known since he first arrived in California as a toddler, but his fight is long from over.
