The Spanish-language press reports on a poll showing that residents of “red states” support immigration reform, but Jorge Ramos says reform will only happen this year if Barack Obama puts “the full weight of the presidency” behind it. Meanwhile, Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) wants baseball’s All-Star Game to join the Arizona boycott in protest of SB 1070.

“Red states” for reform. EFE, El Vocero and Al Día (Philadelphia) report on a poll of a few moderate to conservative states released yesterday by public-opinion firm Hart Research Associates, which found that the populations of those states support immigration reform. The press quotes Hart’s Guy Molyneux and Frank Sharry, executive director of America’s Voice, for their reactions to the poll findings.
