In a tragic attack last night, six Asian women were murdered in Atlanta, Georgia. Sadly, this comes after a year of increased hate and harassment against the Asian-American community, in-part fueled by dangerous rhetoric from right-wing commentators and politicians like Donald Trump. According to Stop AAPI Hate, there have been nearly 3800 incidents of anti-Asian hate during the pandemic – nearly 70% against Asian women.

This chilling attack is a reminder of the pervasive culture of white supremacy and violence that continues to plague our nation. For education and reflection, below are a few comments and statements from AAPI leaders and allies that are important to read in the wake of the attack.
