“These are their stories.”
Today, Pablo Stanley, designer and co-founder at Carbon Health, launched the “We are all dreamers” website, which showcases stories and portraits of young Americans who are recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
According to Stanley:
I want to share with you a project we’ve been working on for the past week, Dreamer Stories. It’s a collection of stories and portraits of young Americans who are recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). To put together this series, I had the honor to illustrate Dreamers’ portraits and understand more about their experiences. We hope it helps people to know more about what Dreamers are, their achievements, and the challenges they face throughout life. These are their stories.
The DACA program, introduced by President Obama in 2012 and recently rescinded by President Trump, temporarily shields recipients from deportation and allows them to live, study, and work legally. The Trump administration announced earlier this month that, beginning March 6, 2018, the DACA program will be terminated. Each day for the next two years, 1,400 people, who are American in all but their paperwork, will lose protection and have their lives thrown into chaos and their futures thrown into uncertainty.
