America's Voice Timeline Highlights Kennedy's Immigration Legacy

Share This:

Today, America’s Voice released an interactive timeline highlighting Senator Edward M. Kennedy’s role in shaping U.S. immigration policies over nearly five decades.  According to Frank Sharry, Executive Director of America’s Voice:

“Senator Kennedy was the architect of the modern-day U.S. immigration system, and led the way on every major immigration reform effort over the past forty-seven years.  Powered by a fierce commitment to a permanently evolving America that moves in the direction of its ideals, he never stopped fighting for immigration policies that would benefit immigrant families and all of America.  As we look back on his legacy and look forward to a major immigration reform effort beginning this fall, we should all be profoundly inspired by his work in helping America renew itself by embracing new immigrants as new Americans.”
