From February 21-24, 2013, NBC news and The Wall Street Journal conduced a poll of 1000 Adults (48% male, 52% female), including 300 cell phone only respondents. The margin of error for 1000 interviews among Adults is ±3.10%.
· American support for legal status for the undocumented has increased in NBC/WSJ polling since January. Asked if they favored “allowing foreigners who have jobs but are staying illegally” to apply for legal status, 54% of Americans said they supported it. This is slightly higher (2 percentage points) than support for the same phrasing from an NBC/WSJ poll a month ago. (NBC/WSJ are generally showing lower support for legalization than other polls.)
