Will Candidates Have The Courage To Sit Down With DAPA Families?

On November 20, 2014, President Obama announced the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA) program. DAPA would protect parents of US Citizen children from deportation and allow them to apply for a work permit. However, DAPA is currently being blocked by a federal court, based on a lawsuit brought by 26 GOP Governors and Attorneys General, leaving millions of families in limbo.

As the one year anniversary of the DAPA announcement approaches and politicians vow to end DAPA or expand it, we think the Presidential candidates should sit down face to face with these DAPA families. They need to see for themselves how these American families are like other families, hear what their lives are like and explain what their presidency would mean to DAPA families. So we will soon be launching DAPA Dinners inviting candidates up and and down the ticket to join a DAPA family for a family dinner. Stay tuned…
