Journalist Jose Antonio Vargas and Hollywood Director Chris Weitz Talk About Alabama’s HB 56

Today, Hollywood director Chris Weitz (who made one of the Twilight movies, About A Boy, and A Better Life will be releasing a series of short videos calling for the repeal of Alabama’s anti-immigrant law, H.B. 56.
 
The videos are being premiered at the Center for American Progress (CAP), where they’ll be launching the videos at a special event in DC called “Is This Alabama? Hollywood Turns the Camera on Alabama” featuring the filmmaker himself, Chris Weitz, Jose Antonio Vargas of Define American, and Tom Baxter, who is a journalist and the author of a CAP report that is also being released later today, “Alabama’s Immigration Disaster: The Harshest Law in the Land Harms the State’s Economy and Society.”
 
The event will be live-streamed on the event today from 1 to 2:30 PM Est.
