  • The Heritage Foundation’s Robert Rector has estimated that executive action will cost the nation $2 trillion over the lifetime of its beneficiaries: “with the expected earnings for an individual with that level of education…the amnestied immigrants will take vastly more out than they will contribute to those programs.”  Rector and Jason Richwine are of course the authors of last year’s infamously flawed Heritage Foundation report, which claimed that the Senate immigration bill would cost $6 trillion and which came under heavy fire after Richwine was discovered to have written about how “no one knows whether Hispanics will ever reach IQ parity with whites.”
  • Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) is buying it, claiming that Obama’s announcement will lead to “insolvency and bankruptcy“*
  • Like clockwork, you can always count on Rep. Steve King (R-IA), who said that executive action has turned “anchor babies” into “human shields” for their undocumented parents
  • Similarly, Michael Savage said that immigrants are using their children as “meal tickets“*
  • A writer at the ultra-nativist VDARE threatened that there would be “insurrection” if the GOP doesn’t impeach Obama*
  • Pat Buchanan claimed that this is “the beginning of the end of the United States as one nation” (echoing claims from Phyllis Schafly that executive action could lead to “civil war
  • Breitbart covered the recent border trip taken by Steve King and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), where they visited one Texas border town and compared it to “WII after a bombing
