Today, the Spanish-language press reports on statements from high-level Obama Administration officials reiterating the President’s commitment to reform immigration policy, a new survey showing deep support for reform among religious voters and a bill in Arizona that would criminalize the undocumented.

Optimism from the Administration. La Opinión prints a comment from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, currently visiting Mexico, saying:

“You saw how long health care reform got delayed, but the President never gave it up for dead.”

The website Terra refers to a meeting between Secretary Janet Napolitano of the Department of Homeland Security with pro-reform advocates before last Sunday’s march. According to the article, Napolitano said that she would work with interested parties

“to do everything possible to build a new and successful immigration system.”
