The Spanish-language press finds setbacks for comprehensive immigration reform on Capitol Hill, as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) says it won’t happen until 2012 and Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) says it won’t happen until after climate change legislation. But across the country, the urgency of reform is driving a call to march this Saturday, May 1.

Graham out. La Opinión (Los Angeles) reports that Sen. Graham has declared that immigration reform will not happen this year. The article, titled “No Republican for reform,” reports:

“Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), the primary Republican involved in negotiations over immigration reform, stated yesterday that the bill won’t be viable until 2012. It now seems possible that Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) will present a framework for an immigration bill this Friday.”
