Share This:

house hearingHappening in the U.S. House of Representatives this week are not one, not two, but three subcommittee hearings on immigration-related topics, spanned across two different committees (Homeland Security and Judiciary). All House Committees are, of course, currently controlled by Republicans.  Unlike the hearings of the last few weeks, these next three will not be full committee hearings.  Still, we’ll be live-tweeting the action at @americasvoice. Here’s a quick rundown:

For the last House immigration hearing, we wrote this piece on House wingnuts like Reps. Lamar Smith (R-TX), Steve King (R-IA), Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI), and Louie Gohmert (R-TX).  But if you tune into Tuesday’s Homeland Security hearing on the border, pay close attention to Rep. Lou Barletta (R-PA), who is as extreme and anti-immigrant a Congressmember as any of them–and isn’t afraid to show it.
