Mitt Romney Thinks He'd Have a Better Chance of Being President if He Was Mexican

Seriously. Watch for yourself.

Mitt Romney–the guy who ran the most anti-immigrant campaign in recent history, who wants to build a “high tech fence” on the border between the U.S. and his now wished-for homeland (Mexico), who believes that self-deportation is a legitimate policy, and who thinks Arizona’s SB 1070 is a model for the nation–now wishes he were Latino.

As CBS quotes Romney:

My dad, as you probably know, was the governor of Michigan and was the head of a car company. But he was born in Mexico … and had he been born of Mexican parents, I’d have a better shot at winning this. But he was unfortunately born to Americans living in Mexico. He lived there for a number of years. I mean, I say that jokingly, but it would be helpful to be Latino.

And, it’s definitely worth reading Markos’ reaction to this clip.
